Are you proud of your country?

                                          Are you proud of your country?
     “Patriotism is easy to understand in America; it means looking out for your country.” That wonderful saying by Calvin Coolidge really means if you are patriotic you look out for your country. I am proud of my country and kind of not proud of my country. I feel this way because most Americans don’t have jobs. We also owe an extreme amount of money to other countries.
     My first reason why I think America is just doing ok is because we owe so much money to other parts of the world and I don’t know how we are going to pay all of this money back. America owes millions of dollars to other countries. I think that soon we have to find a solution. Just because of that I think our patriotism should still be really high in the whole country.
     The second reason why I think America is just doing ok is because so many Americans don’t have jobs. I think this is bad because people can’t take care of themselves or their family. This is bad because the government will have to pay them to be able to live and take care of them and their family. Sooner or later the government will run out of money. So we are putting ourselves in even more debt when people don’t have jobs.
     All in all I think that America is doing ok. Also we should still have great pride for our country no matter if they are doing good or bad. I think that what makes America so amazing is because we stand up for what we think is right. Not all of the countries are able to say that because they may be under a dictatorship. Yes I am proud of my country!

Halloween

     One of the many things that I love about Halloween is that I can get tons of free candy. I also think that it is exciting to dress up and trick or treat with your friends.My favorite candys are kit-kats and skittles. It's really hard to not eat the candy that my mom buys to give to other trick or treaters.
      I do not know what I want to be for Halloween yet. I will probally pick out my costume at some Halloween store. My oldest little brother wants to be Ben 10. My other little brother wants to be Superman, but today he said he wants to be Spiderman and yesterday he said he wanted to be a ninja.  My youngest brother wants to be Thomas the Tank Engine.
     On Halloween. My little brothers go out trick or treating in the afternoon and they have parties at school. When I was in elementary school, we would bring our costumes to school and put them on during lunch. This year in middle school, we will wear our costumes the whole day which is more fun. Me and my friends will trick or treat at night. I can't wait untill Halloween.
